To earn your trust and confidence in the Internet and in HeroFest.org, we are disclosing our Privacy Policy concerning the methods and uses of the information that we collect. Our Privacy Policy is intended to notify you of what personally identifiable information of yours is collected; what organization is collecting the information; how the information is used; with whom the information may be shared; what choices are available to you regarding collection, use and distribution of the information; what kind of security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under HeroFest.org's control; and how you can correct any inaccuracies in the information. Our Privacy Policy outlines the type of information we collect and store, our usage policy, and who to contact with questions or concerns.

1.       What personal information about you do we collect and how do we use the information we collect? HeroFest.org collects some personal information about you when you fill out a Contact Form. Certain information is necessary to provide you with the optimum level of service and thus we require that you provide such information on the Contact Form. However, the Contact Form also asks several optional questions which you may, but are not required to, answer. In addition to the Contact Form, we may ask you for personal information at other times, including, but not limited to, when you access other services made available by HeroFest.org or when you enter a sweepstakes, contest or promotion sponsored by HeroFest.org. Wherever HeroFest.org collects personal information we make an effort to include a link to this Privacy Policy on that page. Promotions that are run by HeroFest.org may be sponsored by companies other than HeroFest.org or may be co-sponsored by HeroFest.org and another company.

Some or all data and information HeroFest.org collects during a promotion may be shared with that sponsor. You may decide not to participate in the promotion if you don't want your data and information to be shared. We use all of the information we collect about you to customize the features and services we provide to you.

HeroFest.org may also use the information we collect to occasionally (almost never) notify you about important functionality changes to the site, new services, promotions, contests, and special offers we think you'll find valuable.

HeroFest.org may also use email addresses and other personal information to contact visitors who communicate with us. For example, HeroFest.org or its business partners may direct email to users who provide us with their email addresses for specific purposes such as receiving email newsletters or being notified if they have won a contest sponsored or co-sponsored by us. Any email newsletter will always contain instructions on how to discontinue receipt of the newsletter. If you choose to no longer receive such information and opt-out from any future mailings, you can simply follow unsubscribe instructions provided with each email delivered or contact HeroFest.org. In addition, if you choose to correspond with us through email, HeroFest.org may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our response. HeroFest.org may request your credit card number in order to provide you with the services that you want. All credit card information collected by HeroFest.org is encrypted using SSL (secure socket layer) encryption techniques and is stored on our secure server network. All credit card transactions are processed by an established financial institution. Access to credit card information at HeroFest.org is restricted to a limited number of authorized, management-only staff in a manner consistent with or exceeding industry standards.

2.       What kind of security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under HeroFest.org's control? Whenever HeroFest.org handles your personal information, we take steps to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We have implemented a variety of security measures to maintain the security of your personal information including containing all of your personal information behind our secured server network and limiting its accessibility to a limited number of authorized persons who have special access rights to such systems.

3.       With whom your personal information may be shared and how can you expect those third parties to use such information? As a general rule, HeroFest.org will not disclose any of your personal information except when we have your permission or under special circumstances where the law requires it or under the circumstances described below. No portion of the information you provide on the Contact Form is available to the general public. HeroFest.org will not transfer any of your personal information to any third party unless and until such third party has agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of such information. However, when you click on the promotional messages or graphics that you view at HeroFest.org, you may be brought to other Internet sites not operated by HeroFest.org. HeroFest.org cannot assure you that the privacy policies relating to these Internet sites are adequate. HeroFest.org's Privacy Policy applies only to this site and not to other websites to which we link.

From time to time, you may be offered the opportunity to receive materials or special offers from third parties. If you opt-in to receive information from these third parties, HeroFest.org will (with your permission) share your name and email address and more with them. HeroFest.org may also disclose account information to third parties in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating HeroFest.org or causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the rights or property of HeroFest.org, or its other users, or to anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. HeroFest.org may disclose or provide access account information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it as well as for administrative and other purposes that we deem necessary to maintain, service, and improve our products and services.

4.       What other information is collected and how does HeroFest.org use it? HeroFest.org gathers certain usage information like the number and frequency of users to our site and its pages, certain demographic information regarding users, the operating system and Web browser that a user uses and the identity of a user's Internet Service Provider. Such information is only used by HeroFest.org in the aggregate to reflect the population as a whole rather than focused on individuals in order to allow us to determine how much our users use certain portions of the site so that we can improve the site to make it is as appealing as we can make it for as many of our users as possible. We may also disclose some of this aggregate information and user statistics pursuant to confidentiality agreements in order to describe our services to current and prospective clients and sponsors. In addition, like many other websites with paid advertising, we may disclose some of this aggregate information to advertisers to inform them of the number of people who have seen and clicked on their advertisements. Generally, this information is collected through traffic data and may entail the use of numeric codes that identify computers (but not specific users) such as IP addresses and through the use of "cookie".

5.       What is a "cookie" and how does HeroFest.org use "cookies"? As part of offering and providing customizable and personalized services, HeroFest.org uses "cookies" to store and sometimes track information about your use of our site. Each time you visit our site, our server network uses standard industry technology known as "cookies" to automatically record your session. This allows you to visit pages without having to type in your password on each page. Cookies are bits of electronic information that a website transfers to your hard drive that help our server network tailor and keep records of your visits to the site. Cookies allow website operators to better customize visits to the site to your individual preferences. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet and many major websites use them to provide useful features to their customers. Cookies themselves do not personally identify you; they only identify your computer. Although most web browsers automatically accept cookies, you can usually change your browser to prevent or notify you whenever you are sent a cookie. This gives you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. All HeroFest.org pages where you are prompted to log-in or that are customizable require you to accept cookies. HeroFest.org uses cookies so that we can help provide our users with a better experience on our site.

6.       What choices are available to you regarding the collection, use and distribution of the information? When you sign up for our email services, you must first fill out a Contact Form. While you must answer several of the basic questions on the Contact Form, many of the questions on Contact Form are optional and thus you need not answer them in order to receive our services. You also have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies you may be unable to use certain HeroFest.org services that require contact in order to participate.

7.       What else you should know about your online privacy? You should take the appropriate steps to protect you and your children's privacy on the Internet. You should (i) be aware of the risks of voluntarily disclosing personal information online, (ii) educate yourself and your children and (iii) use complex passwords and never disclose your password, or allow your children to disclose their password, to anyone.

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information, including your email address, online - for example on message boards, through email, in chat areas or on websites that do not respect your privacy - that information can be collected and used by others. If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited email messages known as "spam" from other parties in return. Although HeroFest.org has strict rules prohibiting spam and we do block certain known persons from sending spam to HeroFest.org users, it is generally a good idea to provide personal information, including your email address, only to persons or websites that you trust and only across secure servers (SSL).

You should take steps to keep hackers from breaking your password and accessing your email account by making your password complex by using long and awkward keystroke combinations and changing it regularly. Also, you should never give your password to anyone, including someone claiming to represent HeroFest.org. We only ask for your password via a web page when you access our system. If you ever misplace or forget your password, we will only send reminders after appropriate security questions have been answered.

Please remember that you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and/or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you're online.
